Amanda Dudnik is a local artist from Hamilton, ON with an MFA from the University of Windsor and a B.A. Honours in Studio Arts from McMaster University. Her recent work deals with the notion of memory in terms of chance, perception, narration and interpretation. Through a combination of painting and writing, the canvas is engaged in an introspective process, where the surface is built up through an intuitive, organic approach. The surface of the canvas references a space of displacement that the mind creates where only impressions of a text and image relationship appear to resonate.
